The Left’s Problem With Unity

There is nothing that any democrat felt watching George Floyd that republicans did not feel. Total disbelief and outrage.  This could have been and should have been a unifying event in our country.  So why wasn’t it?

Because the democrat party does not want unity.  They can’t have unity because that would be good for Donald Trump. They can’t have peace or economic prosperity for the same reason. They need churches and businesses shut down (or destroyed), unemployment high and racism stoked so they have something to blame on Trump and the chances of defeating him in November increase.  Consider a few things:

How did we go from ‘social distancing’ to ‘social justice’ in the matter of a few hours?  One says stay at home away from everyone and the other says join a large group of screaming people with no spacing.  It makes no sense but it happens because the left and the media will change the narrative in a second if it helps their cause. And that leads me to  Sinister Tactics of The Left #1 — Never Let a Crisis Go To Waste.  They benefit from chaos and division, so if they do not have a crisis fall into their lap (like George Floyd did) they will create one. Here are some recent examples:

Hands up don’t shoot. Total fabrication. Never happened.

Jesse Smollett’s Trump hating hoax.  Never Happened.

Russian Collusion. Did happen but it wasn’t Trump, it was Joe Biden!

Years worth of lies coming from the media and millions of our tax dollars wasted investigating these things that they knew were total creations – unbelievable.

And to make matters worse, no one creating all this chaos will ever apologize. No network retractions, just continued lies and shaming of anyone that dares to be politically incorrect.  Rachel Maddow lies everyday for 3 years and still has a job. Adam Schiff is still in congress. Dr. Fauci says shut it down or 2 million people will die, then changes his mind again and again saying the models were wrong. Then claims to be a ‘victim’ when Trump takes away his microphone. Jim Comey breaks the law and then writes a book extolling his virtue.  We are all waiting patiently for a little remorse from any of these people.

And now the left is milking the Chinese virus for all it is worth, and it is worth a lot. Using leftist doctors to fear-monger. Using democrat governors/mayors to shut down churches, schools, and businesses to delay economic recovery until after the election. Reporting false numbers of cases and deaths. Condoning and even encouraging violent demonstrations that are causing chaos and spreading more virus. Using Big Tech to shut down anyone (especially any doctor) that is telling the truth.  Issuing unconstitutional mandates on free people, and for the first time in our history quarantining the healthy rather than the sick. It takes a lot of gall for leftist to blame our President for all of the division and chaos that they themselves are creating.

The United States has always found a way to unite the people during times of trouble but that is not going to happen this time.  There are three reasons for this: 1–For the first time the evil is not outside of our country but within.  2– America has always united around a set of core principles (freedom, personal responsibility, rule of law, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, religious liberty) The left doesn’t believe in those things anymore. 3–The things that the left wants are not even worthy of a conversation.

What do we hear them pushing for?  Defunding the police!  Black Lives Matter (Marxism), open borders, Green New Deal, entitlements for illegals.  Free college and free everything.  Socialism.  Drop the electoral college. Mail in (fraudulent) voting?

These things are not American and never will be.  If you want to have unity in our country maybe you should stop making trouble, give up on your crazy ideas, roll up your sleeves, and start acting like Americans.

Who is the Left?

In the course of my political conversations the same question keeps coming up over and over again so I thought I would answer it here.  This may clarify things a little for those of you that get upset with my political views.

Question:  Who is “The Left” and why are you always railing against them?

Here is the short answer:

Antifa – Black Lives Matter – The Mainstream Media – The DC Swamp

Liberal Academia – Never Trumpers – The Deep State – The 1619 Project

Big Tech (Facebook, Twitter, Google, U-tube) – False Churches and Teachers

Globalists – Environmentalists – Radical LGBTQ – Activist Judges – Socialists

Hollywood – Atheists – Blue State Mayors/Governors – Democrat Party

Look closely at this list and think about how much influence and control they have over people in our country right now. This is the Left, and they are working together to accomplish more than any of them could accomplish alone.  I rail against them because they don’t believe in the founding principles that formed this great country. They are increasingly anti-God, anti-law and order, and anti-freedom. They all have slightly different goals but I see each of them having these 4 troubling things in common:

1 — They are selfishly deceiving people into thinking they are something that they are not in order to get what THEY want. For example:  BLM is not about race, the media is not about news, and liberal academia is not about teaching kids to think for themselves.

2 — They will all use any means necessary (even dishonest or illegal) to get rid of Donald Trump.

3 — Most of these groups are not constrained at all by morality. They benefit from chaos and anarchy and so they are all invested in the suffering of the American people for their own political gain.

4 — They disapprove of America (as founded) so they want to erase history, erase laws, destroy America and rebuild it in their own image – whatever that may be.

Most of the bad things happening today in our country can be traced back to these groups.  The coming election is not going to be about Democrats vs Republicans.  There are plenty of Republicans included in the above groups. The election of 2020 will be about whether we will return to the American way of life or whether we will give that up and hand our country over to immoral competing forces, the strongest of which will dominate the others and put an end to our civil society. What happens when Trump loses and these groups are no longer working together?  That is an America that even democrats will not want to be a part of.

Where’s the American Spirit?

What strange times these are. Every morning I sit at my computer and brace myself.  What kind of insanity will I see today courtesy of the American left? I talk to people every day now that have no idea what America is all about. No interest in our history, Constitution or the Bill of Rights. No real appreciation for the miracle of America.

These days I find myself more effectively explaining to them what America is not:

America is not Marxist, Socialist, Communist, or Atheist.  And you have never seen these ideologies result in a successful country.  It takes 5 minutes online to discover that Black Lives Matter is a violent marxist movement that is not about race and opposes nearly everything America stands for. (Including the nuclear family) Wouldn’t that be great for already suffering minority communities! Who wants to replace Capitalism?  Democrats

America does not tolerate lawlessness. We value the rule of law and we have always enjoyed a civil society – until this year. I can’t believe what I am seeing in blue states as liberal leaders ignore riots.  People are being killed, businesses destroyed, covid is spreading, police officers are being ambushed, and nothing is being done. Who is refusing to stop anarchy? (for political reasons) Democrats.

America does not give up our Freedom.  As a country we have paid a huge price in blood to secure those freedoms. We don’t give them up for safety or security, when threatened, or for any other reason.  Who is messing with our Freedom? Democrats

America does not defund our Police. We value all of our heros and the work they do to protect us. As morality declines we need more police, not less.  We must always support them and allow them to do their difficult jobs free from hinderance or retribution.  Who wants to defund the police?  Democrats

America does not provoke God.  We have been blessed and protected since our founding because of our obedience to God. We are now paying a big price for turning away from Him. Who took God out of their platform and prayer out of schools? Who is threatening religious liberty and refusing to allow churches to open?  Democrats.

America does not ignore it’s history. When God carved the 10 Commandments he gave them out as a reminder of our sin.  Historical monuments do the same thing. They are not there for us to approve or disapprove of. America is a work in progress.  Who we were is just as important as who we are. Who tears down statues?  Democrats

America does not fear. Fear and capitalism do not mix.  Everything we have as a country was aquired by fearlessly going after it,  By taking risks, by creating, by bravely fighting for it! And now I look out over our country and see that the left has succeeded in turning half of our country into cowards. It’s the saddest thing I have ever seen. Who is creating fear, fomenting fear, and celebrating political gains via fear?  Democrats

America does not cave to bullies. When you ask what President Trump is doing with Goya products on his desk, he is doing what he always does – putting America first. When unamerican forces try to bully patriots and one of them stands up to the bully, Trump has his back and so does America. Who are the cancel culture bullies?  The Left

America will not accept a ‘shadow’ government. I wish  democrats knew how stupid they look when they constantly criticize Trump while their candidate is being hidden in his basement because he is unable to speak in complete sentences. We all know that Joe Biden can’t be president. If elected there will be a person or group in the back room calling the shots.  That person or group did not have to raise money, campaign, or debate.  They were not vetted, are not transparent, or accountable to separate powers. That is just not acceptable.  Speaking of debates, we usually have many of them.  Do you think we will this year?  No way.  And why is that?  Because the minute Biden steps on a debate stage with President Trump it is all over and democrats know that.  If they succeed in preventing debates it will be an acknowledgment that Biden is not capable of being president.  Who wants a puppet as president?  Democrats.

Americans are suffering right now, and being led in the wrong direction by a relatively small number of powerful people that do not have our best interest in mind.  It’s time for patriots on both sides of the aisle to rise up and put an end to this.

Now, one last comment to you mainstream democrats.  Some of you will look at this list and say “That’s not me.  I don’t believe that.”  Ok, I can accept that if you will answer just one question:  How do you plan to vote?  It doesn’t matter what you think. It only matters what Joe Biden’s puppet master thinks. This is the direction your party is going.  Are you ok with that?

Time to leave the Democrat Party #2

hypocriteContinuing now with the 10 reasons why no one (especially Christians) should have anything to do with the 2018 Democrat Party:

5–Hypocrisy/Deception  There is no shortage of hypocrisy anywhere in DC, but the Democrats have taken it to a new level. This is the party that gleefully destroyed a good man (Kavanaugh) and his family with no evidence.  But they revere Bill Clinton who actually DID those things, lied about it, was impeached, and is STILL doing those things! To democrats, evidence doesn’t matter as much as the seriousness of their false accusations.  They consider enemies guilty until they can prove their innocence and that’s not the way America works. The democrat party has become the party that is anti-hate but they hate Trump with a passion that blinds them. They are the party that is anti-bullying but bullies anyone in their way. (Ask Kanye West) The party that is tolerant but doesn’t tolerate anyone with opposing views.  The Party of peace that condones violence. The party that believes women unless they are conservative women that were raped by Bill Clinton.  This is the deception.  Words mean nothing coming from a liberal, you must pay attention to what they DO.

4–Unpatriotic values  In 2012 some Democrat strategist determined that the American Flag made voters think of the Republican party.  That’s why they decided to have a Democrat convention with no flags, until the people revolted. This is how liberals think, and that’s only the beginning.  In recent years their policies and behavior have indicated that they favor criminals over police, illegals over citizens, corruption over the Constitution, PC over common sense, division over unity… I could go on and on, so what are the American people to think?

3–Socialism/Communism  Speaking of value problems, what is up with all these socialist candidates running for office in the democrat party?  You can’t tell me that Obama and company aren’t a little worried about this development.  In fact, I read recently that Obama would not endorse Ocasio-Cortez (an avowed socialist) even though he believes in everything she does. Why? Because she is not playing by the rules. I can just see him telling her “You can’t TELL them you believe in those things, you have to lie to get elected and then you just do what you want like I did.” Socialism is stealing from those who DID and giving it to those who WON’T. And forced equality (Communism) guarantees that everyone will be equally poor.  I don’t see what liberals find attractive about either option.

2–Poison  I mentioned earlier how liberals take the fun out of everything, but it’s more than that.  In my opinion, they ruin everything they touch.  We have evidence now to prove what happens to areas that experience long term Democratic policies.  Once great places like Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, and the whole state of California!  And we can see changes in sanctuary cities already.  I live in one and I can tell you how fast it is changing and not for the good.  Universities used to teach kids to think critically, now they regularly ban conservative speakers because it interferes with liberal professors’ ability to grow democrats.  The media used to report the news, now liberal outlets don’t even pretend to be unbiased. Liberalism has also ruined the movies coming out of Hollywood and has all but destroyed comedy (through PC).  It is sad to watch this.

1–God  Our great country was formed by moral people for moral people.  It was not designed to hold up under corrupt leadership and it is not holding up very well.  When culture declines due to immorality isn’t it our job to do something about it?  Or do we watch it crash like it has everywhere else in history.  I see church pews full of democrats and people that have no interest in politics and I don’t understand it.  Does it make a difference who a Christian votes for?  Let me help you with that.  If you are a Christian that is thinking about voting democrat consider this.  You are voting with a party that takes Christ out of Christmas, takes prayer out of schools, bans manger scenes and displays of the 10 commandments, redefines marriage and imposes a marriage tax, celebrates sexual sin, kills babies, and opposes religious liberty.  The republican party doesn’t do any of that.

Donald trump is not a perfect person or president.  When have we ever seen one of those? But not one of the 16 candidates he beat in the primary (or any democrat) could do what he has done.  To speak for hours at rallies with no notes and convey his love for America and the PEOPLE who work everyday to make it great.  To endure constant attacks and still focus on his job.  To have the knowledge and experience to explain in detail how short term pain in tariffs and trade negotiations will lead to ultimate prosperity. No one else could do that! He is working hard and doing great things for the people who love him AND for the people that hate him.  MAGA

Time to leave the Democrat Party #1

GOVT-2305-Government-Basic-Ideology-Chart-for-Political-Party-Influence-e1501326464831I left the Democrat party back in the 1980’s for three reasons: 1–I thought they were more interested in deception than debate.  2–I witnessed corruption in the labor union that destroyed the Rath Packing Company costing me and my father our jobs (and his pension).  3–I found that the Republican party positions lined up better with the Bible. All three of these problems have only gotten worse since then, so with the election approaching I thought it would be a good time to share with you my 10 reasons why no one (especially Christians) should have anything to do with the 2018 democrat party.

Before I start, let me just say that I am not talking here about my hard-working, God-fearing, patriotic, slightly liberal friends and family members.  I am talking about what has become of your political party.  My hope is that you will take a closer look and come to the same conclusion I did.

10–Extreme positions  Did you know that Wednesday is “national pronoun day”? And in parts of New York, government employees can be fined for using the “wrong” pronoun to describe some one? Did you know in California they are passing laws that allow persecution of Christians and attempt to control what a pastor can and cannot preach about?  The democrat party is becoming dangerous as their leaders fail to denounce violence and actually encourage the harassment of those with opposing views.  They have a stated goal of impeaching Trump – not sure how or why. They want to roll back the tax cuts that have created a great economy. They favor socialized medicine, want to abolish ICE, and applaud Cuomo for saying that “America was never that great.”  Most Americans do not agree with any of this.

9–No Fun  Democrats are quickly sucking the fun out of life and politics. They reek havoc everywhere they go and have created a politically correct society of “false outrage.” Life has become a contest to see what liberal can be the most offended, and a race to see how fast the media can turn that offense into a reason to attack conservatives and all they stand for.  It doesn’t have to be like this, it’s exhausting.

8–The Constitution  If you have a problem with this document you have no business being in American politics.  Every civil servant takes an oath to preserve and defend it and nearly all democrats (and some republicans) now ignore that oath. It is very revealing that power obsessed liberals can’t stand our founding document since one of it’s functions is to hinder the power obsessed. A judge that warns that the people are giving judges more power than the constitution allows is a good judge (Scalia).  A president that complains that the constitution hinders his ability to get things done is a bad president (Obama).

7–Capitalism  Democrats feel the need to constantly bash the system that makes America great!  It’s like they don’t understand that it is capitalism that provides all the money they need for the crazy, unnecessary liberal programs that they want us to pay for. If a person works hard and becomes wealthy, democrats have to realize 2 things: The first is that it is none of your business! And secondly, Them getting wealthy does not mean that some one else then needs to be poor. It’s like they see the world as a big pie and if rich people take a piece others will starve.  No!  Capitalism creates more pies!

6–Abortion  We can argue amongst ourselves all day (and we do) about when life begins, but as far as I am concerned there are only two questions to be asked.  First, when do you think that God says that is a baby?  And secondly, what does it say about us that we continue to allow this?

Now, before I get to part two, I want to mention something from the news this week that exposes liberal abuse. Kanye West has been pummeled all week by all the lefty networks simply because he is asking the black community to take a serious look at Donald Trump and his policies. Why is that?  Because the Democrat party can’t afford to lose any black voters, and Kanye West is now becoming a serious threat to them.  Now he was a hero to them when he criticized George Bush but that was before.  Democrats don’t care about what is best for the black community, they only care about getting back into power!  The truth is that Kanye West has done more for minorities in the last few months than Obama did in his 8 years as president.

Understanding the Great Divide #2

In part 1 we established that the country is being divide by the democrat party. I want to start part 2 with recent quotes from two of the party leaders:

Hillary Clinton: “You can’t be civil with a party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about. That’s why I believe if we are fortunate enough to win back the house or senate that’s when civility can start again”.

Eric Holder: “Michele (Obama) always says when they go low we go high. No. No. When they go low, we kick them!  That is what this new Democratic party is all about.”

These disgraceful comments are irresponsibledivided and dangerous.  In a politically charged environment that is already experiencing too much violence, these leaders are the ones that should be condemning it, and are instead advocating for more violence.  Does Hillary think that conservatives were happy for eight years watching Obama destroy what we care about?  Did we call for violence?  No, we were civil because that what Americans are.  I don’t know what members of the ‘new’ democratic party are.

Now, lets get to the three techniques the democrats use to stoke chaos and division in America:

#1–Political Correctness (PC)  A quick definition would be the effort to avoid language/policies that appear to offend certain groups in society. The problem is who decides what groups need protection?  And what language/policies are bad? The answer is that liberals in positions of power (Political leaders, college professors, and the media) make the decisions, and they do it because it allows them to reset the rules of life in order to promote their political agenda.

The republican position is that PC is excessive and unnecessary.  We already have laws to protect these groups, along with social norms and common sense to guide us.

#2–The Politics of Personal Destruction  Negative advertising is a fact of life in politics because (unfortunately) it works.  But there is a difference between exposing bad positions on the issues and personal attacks.  Ariel Dumas spoke for millions in the liberal ‘resist’ community this week when she said “Whatever happens, at least I’m glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh’s life.”

The republican position is that we can attract better people to run for office if we limit the attacks to issues. Further, a fair and impartial media would vet candidates from both parties.  As it is now they are only critical of the GOP candidates giving democrats a huge advantage. The truth is that dirty politics turns most people off and hurts our republic.  It is also true that liberals can’t win on the issues so they resort to personal attacks.

#3– Identity Politics  Another quick definition:  The taking of political positions based on race, religion, social background etc..  My definition is Liberals pitting one group against another to create a victim mentality.  This is where the libs do the most damage.  They pit rich against poor, black against white, gay against straight….. because that is how you produce victims and stir up the base voters. They make one political speech for this group and another speech for that group, and the chaos never ends.

The republican position is that you don’t need separate laws to benefit separate groups. If you pass good conservative legislation it will benefit all people.  Hence the saying “A high tide raises all boats.” That’s why when Trump (or any good politician) speaks to different groups he makes the same speech to every group.

It would be nice if politics was seen as a way to temporarily serve the people. To do what is best for all people and our country. But the truth is that politics is about power, and power corrupts most people, and when corrupt people lose their power they will do anything to get it back.

Democrats are much better than Republicans at the power game.  They are not hindered at all by the constraints of morality.  They seem to have no problem at all with hypocrisy.  And they are polished in the fine art of deception.  They have been at this for many years. The Democratic party needs four things to accomplish the goals we mentioned earlier.  They need a Villain.  That’s why CNN bashes Trump (and all conservatives) 24 hours a day.  They need the Victim Mentality that they produce with their identity politics. They need a fresh supply of Ignorant People that depend on Government and will vote for them.  This is supplied nicely by open borders, a bad economy, and voter policies that help people cheat.  And finally they need chaos and division to stir up the voters and that is supplied the liberal media fake news, liberal professors dominating higher education, and all of the above.

Understanding the Great Divide #1

us-political-divide-4232701With the Kavanaugh supreme court hearings I believe we have reached a new low point in American politics. It was painful to watch no matter what side of the aisle you sit on. Politics is not supposed to be a soap opera.  Perhaps it’s time to consider taking the TV cameras out.  Without the cameras, Dr. Ford could have remained anonymous like she wanted to, and Diane Feinstein would have no reason to hold her case until the last minute for political purposes. Without the cameras Cory Booker would have to run for president on his own time. Without the cameras Senators would not spend 19 of their 20 minutes show-boating and then waste 1 minute on a self serving irrelevant question.  The whole process could be done in a day instead of 2 weeks.

As it was, the soap opera created chaos everywhere.  Even those who try to ignore politics could not escape it. It was all over TV, social media, in the work place and at home. I believe this is a source of great frustration for the majority of Americans.  We want and expect our leaders to conduct their business in a civil manner. Frankly, we may have just witnessed the death of civility in DC. That leads me to a question: If civility is dead who killed it?  Does it matter?  Our citizens have never been more divided than they are right now, so if I went out to the street and asked 10 people who they thought was dividing the country what would they say?  I don’t think the average voter knows why we are being divided or who is causing it. My guess is 7 of the 10 would say Donald Trump.  If you are one of the seven then let me ask you to consider another possibility, because I know the answer and it is not President Trump.

Before we get to the great divider, lets go over some things that we all used to agree on. I can think of five:

1– American Sovereignty (strong borders, defense, fair trade)

2–God (Biblical values, religious liberty)

3–The Constitution

4–Definition of Marriage

5– Patriotism (Doing what is best for America).

It wasn’t very long ago that virtually everyone agreed on these 5 things, and there was unity in that, and a sense of common purpose that brought all of us together. Sadly, today that is not the case.

The Republican party still supports and defends all of these 5 things, but unfortunately the democrat party no longer supports and defends any of them.  So there is your answer.  The great divider is the democrat party. Now some of my democrat friends will say that they do believe in these things.  Maybe you do, but your political party doesn’t! Let me explain how. Democrats believe in open borders, cutting defense, they took God completely out of their party platform, and marriage is whatever anyone wants it to be. Obama complained for 8 years about the constraining effects of the Constitution, and went around it every chance he could. What ever you think of Trump, you can’t deny that he always does what is best for America. Clinton and Obama can’t say that.  The reason Trump scrapped the Iran deal, Paris deal, and NAFTA is that none of them were in our best interest.

The reason that passion runs so high for conservatives like myself is that America as founded cannot survive leadership that turns it’s back on these things.  And let me mention one more.  What ever happened to the ‘peaceful transfer of power’? What message are we sending to the world when one party can’t except the results of a duly elected president 2 years later?!?

Finally, I want to talk about how and why the democrats make such an effort to divide.  And yes it is on purpose. They have been doing it for years now in spite of the fact that it is not in the best interest of their own voters and is a serious threat to our Republic. Why they do it is because it is the only way to accomplish their goals.  The current goals being to regain power, establish a growing number of low information democrat voters that are dependent on Government, to destroy the bond between Trump and his supporters, and ultimately to impeach Trump.

How they do it is a little more complicated.  They accomplish this through 3 recent developments in American politics; all created and perfected by liberals and the media to cause chaos and division. That’s where we go in part 2.

Why Trump Matters pt 4

Game…….Set…….Match.  With the withdrawal of Jeb Bush, the corrupt Washington DC establishment is officially out of business for 2016. As a result, the liberal media, the influence peddlers, power brokers, rich donors, and even the conservative elites (National Review Magazine) are having a collective cow. I love it!

Republican Presidential Candidate Jeb Bush Holds South Carolina Primary Night Gathering

It is still early in the process and anything can happen, but I could not be happier with the remaining three front runners and I am sure that one of them will be our next president. I said in part one of this series that I hope others will learn from Trump and they have not.  That’s why he continues to lead the field.  Let’s explore that a little:

What others need to learn from Trump:

1–Money will not always win elections.  Bush spent 36 million dollars in New Hampshire.  Trump spent a fraction of that and ended up with 5 times the votes. Ben Carson also proves that the public will always support a good candidate with a million $10 donations. Do the right thing and do what you said you would do and the money will come. You don’t have to depend on Chamber of Commerce money in exchange for supporting amnesty. Be principled, not beholding to donors.

2–The media has only the power we give them. They think they have the power to destroy anyone they want but the public is aware of their bias now. GOP candidates need to stop fearing the media. If you confront them the people will back you and you will win. The way Trump is playing the media has been masterful. A lesson for all future candidates.

3–America is not politically correct. People are seeing the damage it is doing to our country. They want fearless, common sense fighters.  Today, that is more important to voters than ideology is, especially among the young people.

What Trump needs to learn from others:

1–We don’t want to see an episode of Jerry Springer in a GOP debate.  Going negative may be effective with low information voters but most people do not like it.  And personal attacks always hurt the party.

2–We need more specifics. Even Trump supporters have been patiently waiting for more details. If you want to be our president then stop with all the trivial stuff and get specific about what you will do. Don’t waste time talking about eligibility and how many people like you and convince us that your ideas are better than theirs. Ideas may not matter to democrats but they do to republicans.

3–The problem is Liberalism. As a businessman, Trump looks at Obama and sees incompetence, but Rubio was right in that debate. Obama knows exactly what he is doing. Liberal leaders are corrupt, dishonest, and deceptive.  They know they can’t say what they plan to do or no one would support them. A GOP president needs to understand the ideology of the left and the disease of liberalism in order to fight it.  This is my biggest concern with a Trump presidency.

4– Freedom Caucus vs Corrupt GOP Leadership. When Trump makes fun of Cruz’ lack of senate endorsements he doesn’t realize that he is complimenting him:) Cruz called McConnell dishonest from the floor of the Senate (and he was telling the truth). That won’t get you many endorsements, but it will get you votes from the American people that are paying attention.

It is fun to watch these guys learn and make adjustments as they go.  And it is even more fun to see the transfer of power from donors and the media to WE THE PEOPLE, where it belongs!  This, in a nutshell, is Why Trump Matters:)

And, by the way, it doesn’t just apply to candidates for president. Our broken political system only improves when all candidates for office stick to their principles.  If they tell us they will go to DC and fight the liberals we will elect them. If they go and leadership pressures them to change their votes then leadership is the problem – and it is right now. Eric Cantor was a problem and now he is gone. John Boehner was a problem and now he is gone. (And the jury is out on Paul Ryan) Mitch McConnell is a problem and he will be gone soon. This is a beautiful thing.

Let’s take a look at the final five:

Ben Carson — Everyone likes him and knows he would be a fine president, but he will never go over 10% in this environment. He has all the money he needs and is on a mission to hold the others accountable so he is likely to resist pressure to drop out. He is too nice and too classy for politics but I am glad he is in the race. I am really looking forward to the book he writes detailing this adventure.

John Kasich — He doesn’t have any money and is too far behind for donors to take a chance on him. But he will continue on for awhile dangling the state of Ohio in front of the leaders and trying to make a case for a gig as Vice President.

Marco Rubio — Marco Rubio is going to make a wonderful president someday, but I don’t think this is his time. He has an immigration problem, an experience problem, and a trust problem. He betrayed the GOP by striking an amnesty deal with Schumer and the gang of 8.  If he would just own up to it and apologize most voters would forgive and forget. The fact that he has not indicates a character flaw that voters have a huge problem with, especially when he tries to push his problem off on Cruz who has always opposed amnesty.

Ted Cruz — Full disclosure, this is my guy. Cruz is the real deal and the closest thing to Reagan that we will ever likely see.  He is the logical choice and the clearest opposition to liberal policy. He would wipe the floor with any democrat in a debate. Problem is that leadership of both parties hate him and fear him because he exposes their corruption and will take away their power. His best chance is if Rubio gets out, Carson endorses, or all the national conservative talk show hosts gather to endorse him. (they all favor him but can’t or won’t say it yet).  None of those three things is likely to happen.

The Donald — His negatives are so high that he could not win a one on one primary against Cruz or Rubio. But it doesn’t matter because they will both stay in and split the vote.  At this point the only person that can beat Trump is Trump. And since his supporters don’t seem to care what he says or does I believe that this race may be over. I think we all need to prepare ourselves for the possibility of a president Trump!

Oh, and if Trump is sworn in his first order of business needs to be to fill the Scalia vacancy on the supreme court with one Ted Cruz!  Now wouldn’t that be poetic.

Why Trump Matters pt 3

palin-donald-trump-endorsementAs I watched Sarah Palin endorse Trump last night I must admit to being a little puzzled. Palin has always been all about conservatism and Donald Trump is no conservative.  Why would she not endorse her friend and fellow conservative Ted Cruz?  After all she worked tirelessly to get him elected in Texas.

Her announcement made some waves around the country and reaction has been interesting. Glenn Beck, in his usual overly dramatic way, announced that he was done with Sarah – that she was no longer conservative enough for him.  Well Mr. Beck, you are wrong on this one.  Sarah Palin did not suddenly become a moderate, and she is not the ding-bat all of you liberals think she is.  She is not endorsing Trump because he is a conservative.  She obviously sees something else of value in his candidacy.

Trump and Palin have much in common.  They are both common sense leaders that like to be in the spotlight.  The both hate political correctness and like to do things their own way.  They have both been mercilessly attacked by both sides of the aisle and have the courage to not let that stop them.  They are truly one of a kind, but even that is not enough to justify the endorsement.  So what is it?

I believe there are three reasons Palin endorsed Trump:

1– He will make America great again. It is not just a slogan.  He has tapped into her anger and the anger of the American people.  This is the reason Trump leads, and the reason that he fills stadiums everywhere he goes.  America has had it with Obama and his policies that put the lazy ahead of the workers / the illegals ahead of American citizens / our enemies ahead of our friends / and Obama’s interests ahead of what is best for our country. Donald trump is giving voice to the concerns of ‘real’ Americans in a way that no one else is.

2– He will shake up DC. Palin has made a calculation that fighting the establishment of both parties is more important than advancing the conservative cause, and she is right. We no longer have time for business as usual in Washington.  Corruption must be confronted.  Crony capitalism and the influence of money must end. Political correctness must stop, and the interests of America and Americans must be considered first, especially at the border. The liberal media must be exposed and rendered powerless.  Trump is already voicing all of these concerns from the stump and people like it.

3– He will win. Palin also sees that it is likely Trump will garner millions of votes that no other candidate will. Who are these voters?  They are American workers in both parties that see hours cut,  jobs lost, and wages declining as a result of illegals flooding across our borders. They are small business people in both parties that are being strangled by the burden of unnecessary regulations. They are hard working people in both parties that value the rule of law, want to be safe from terrorists, and are disgusted with the debt that we are passing on to our children.

There are many things that I don’t like about Trump. I don’t like how he fights with other candidates, but if being some one that fights the establishment of both parties means you will fight other candidates I can live with that.  I don’t like the way he calls people stupid, but he calls out people on both sides.  In fact, so far everything he has called stupid I agree with so I guess I can live with that. I don’t like that he has married three times, has thin skin, and often makes crude remarks. But let me ask you a question. Would you rather hear crude remarks or listen to some one politely articulate 90 minutes of lies to your face like Obama did in the State of the Union Speech last week? If Trump ushers in an era of “real” people prospering in politics that will be a good thing because that is what the framers intended, so I can live with that.

I am still officially undecided at this time, and there are a few things that I am still kicking around as I try to sort this out:

**What does Trump offer that Cruz/Carson/Rubio/ and Paul do not offer?

**If Trump falters who will get his votes?

**Can a true conservative still win nationally in 2016 America?

**Trump turns away people at every event – Why is that?

I was asked if I thought the Palin endorsement will help Trump.  My answer is that I think it will hurt Cruz more than it helps Trump.  And it may also hurt Palin.  Just like the Trey Gowdy endorsement did not help Rubio, but instead cut into his own credibility. Sarah is taking a huge risk here because no one ever knows what Donald Trump will do:

He is a narcissist like Obama so the power may go to his head.

He has the ego to abuse executive orders just like Obama does.

He likes to take vengeance on his enemies just like Obama does.

He may return to his previous liberal positions on issues.

He has the potential to be unpresidential and embarrassing like Obama is.

Time will tell, but I am sure that I would not want to live with any of these 5 things, so why should I take that chance with my primary vote?

Why Trump Matters pt 2

rt_donald_trump_mm_150616_16x9_992Donald Trump continues to lead the Republican field of presidential candidates and good things continue to happen as a result.  I want to list 10 things that have happened just since I wrote Trump pt1, and tell you how I think this could be leading to significant changes in Washington DC.

First, a review: We have been talking about the fight within the Republican party.  That fight is between the current leadership (establishment) and the conservatives (tea party). Previous blogs have detailed how the establishment (of both parties) is full of greedy, dishonest, power hungry, corrupt politicians that have no interest in what is good for America. Trump is shaking things up by attacking this establishment.  He knows that they (like Obama) are ruling against the will of the American people.  His popularity continues because he validates public opinion and refuses to be intimidated.

There are 5  very large and powerful groups that have been doing everything in their power to demonize and control conservatives for decades now. These groups are: 1–Chamber of Commerce  2–Liberal Media  3–Washington political establishment (both parties)  4–Judicial Activist  5–Liberal Elites in Education. All of these groups are losing power, money , and influence as a result of Donald Trump and events like the 10 listed below.  Hopefully this will continue.

1—Planned Parenthood videos are released.  This has the media and all liberals in a tizzy.  Even some democrats are calling for defunding, so far our good friend Mitch McConnell has stepped in to stop the effort – unbelievable.

2—Trumps poll #s increase after John McCain flare-up.  Those calling for trump to pull out of the race wonder how this could happen.  Frankly, the republican base thinks they deserve an apology from McCain more that McCain deserves one from Trump.

3—Details of Iran Nuclear deal released.  How’s this for a little detail: America is now obliged to protect the Iranian Nuclear program from acts of sabotage or foreign attacks (including Israel)  Who’s side are we on anyway?

4—Trump goes to Mexican border and Obama forbids tours by fed agents. Typical power move by Obama to protect his illegal activity.

5—Carly, Carson, and Cruz School liberal media when asked “gotcha” questions.  This is wonderful to see.  Carly Fiorina in particular is very good at this.  I hope all the candidates are watching and learning.  The Obama media only has the power that wimpy republicans give them.

6—“Excuse me professor” book released confronting liberal bias in universities.  Long overdue resource for growing conservative campus organizations.  My kids will all receive a copy soon.

7—Polls show high favorability for Trump among Hispanics.  Go figure, after all that slandering?

8—Trump leading Jeb in Florida.  Bad sign for Bush, good sign for America.

9—Cruz goes to Senate floor and criticizes McDonnell.  Not only criticizes, but actually calls him a liar several times from the floor of the Senate. Hopefully this will become a trend because he is a liar and should be confronted. By the way Cruz’s poll numbers went up immediately after he did this.

10–Conservatives go after GOP leadership.  Mark Meadows voted his conscience – the way his constituents sent him to DC to vote, and he was punished by Speaker Boehner.  Meadows responded this week by making an attempt to “Vacate the Chair”. Of course it went nowhere but his office was flooded with calls thanking him for trying to replace Boehner.

Baby Steps….

DEBATE PREVIEW ———– Is there a stage too big for Trump – I think this one is

Tomorrow night FOX will air the first debate for republican candidates.

First debate vs. Primetime — They used polls to determine who would make primetime.  Problem is that polls are worthless at this stage in a campaign so don’t assume that the first debate includes inferior candidates.  Fiorina and Jindal will still be standing when half of the field is gone.

What will Trump do? —  Trump will be the reason most people watch this debate and no one knows what he will do.  He has 2 options:  He can continue to attack and return fire as he is attacked, or he can sit back and take a more relaxed approach and try to appear “presidential”.  If he does calm down he may even garner sympathy support, but I don’t think he has it in him to do that.

What will the others do?  —  The size and quality of the field means that Trump will be attacked, although not likely by Cruz or Walker. Nearly everyone on the stage has a better command of the issues so it is not a big gamble. Those under 5% must try and do something to garner more support.

Who needs a good night?    There are solid candidates with money and name recognition.  This debate is not critical to their success.  It is critical for these 5: Perry, Carson, Christie, Santorum, Huckabee.  Also, because there are so many good options, making a critical error tonight will likely end your campaign.
